In 1891, Dr. Alexander John Chandler, the first veterinarian in Arizona, bought 80 acres of land from the government. By the turn of the century, his ranch turned into 18,000 acres. Soon after, he decided to build various types of businesses around a small park. Eventually, people flooded to the area in hopes of starting fresh.
There are many schools in this area. Some of the schools are Hamilton High School, Basha High School, Arizona College Preparatory, and Knox Elementary School.
Some of the best things to do in this area are to go to Tumbleweed Park, the KOLI Equestrian Center, Rawhide Western Town and Event Center, and Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino.
